Thursday 31st December 2009 - Sunday 3rd January 2010
The organising committee for the Gulgong Folk Festival extend a very big thank you to the Performers and Festival Goers for making the 2009 festival so memorable. A special thank you to our international guests, Johnny Handle and Chris Hendry.
To our sponsors, both financial and “in-kind”. our sincere thanks for your donations, without which we would not have been able to stage the event.
The Sponsors were:
Mid Western Regional Council Prince of Wales Hotel
Mudgee Regional Tourism Inc Centennial Hotel
Xstrata – Ulan Mine Commercial Hotel
Gulgong MADS Post Office Hotel
Ten Dollar town Motel Ulan Hotel
Goldfields Motel Radio 2MG/Real FM
Gulgong Motel Mudgee Guardian & Gulgong Advertiser
Henry Lawson Caravan Park Print Storm
Gerard Gilet Guitars Amanda Pahl Advertising on line
To those whose efforts throughout the year and over the festival, the volunteers, we extend our warmest thanks and best wishes, for without your efforts there would be no festival.
Following what was a most successful 2009 festival, planning has already commenced for the 2010 event which is scheduled to commence on Friday 31 December 2010 with the traditional Mayne Street party and dance. To all the folkies out there, please note this date on your calendars and come and help make this year’s festival even better.
The Program, Performer Bi-os and other organisational material on this web site will remain as for the 2009 Festival, until updated later in 2010 with the planning for this year’s event.
Cheers,
Gulgong Folk Club Inc.

Hope you all had a great time ...
Stay tuned for some photos and feedback !!!
Importantly please let us know what you thought of this year's festival, we would really appreciate any feedback ... or let us know if you would like to be on next year's email list ...
Here's what the Mudgee Guardian & Gulgong Advertiser had do to say overall ...
Highlights of the festival included Saturday’s guitar competition, which was decided by a three-way playoff for the prize of a $1000 guitar handcrafted by Gerard Gilet. Muswellbrook musician David Harvey, who works for the Upper Hunter Conservatorium of Music, took home the guitar after his performance of the jazz standard Autumn Leaves.
Mr Harvey, who plays in the “three-handed” style of Tommy Emmanuel and Bruce Mathiske, said the festival was a great place to meet other musicians and to perform.
The winner of the raffle of over $200 in performers' CD's was won by Jack and Cathy Chapman of Petersham. Jack and Cathy are members of the folk federation and bush music club and are long term patrons of the Gulgong Folk Festival. Congratulations!
Welcome to the 2009/10 Gulgong Folk Festival
